Plymouth Plantation Questions

            1. During the starving time the colonists starved to death and resorted to cannibalism to sustain themselves.

      2. Squanto was an Indian who had been to England and could speak English very well.

3. The Wampanoag helped the colonists survive by teaching them to hunt and keep warm.

5. It changed the colonists prospects of survival by making them realize they needed help or they would all perish. In the beginning of their arrival they thought that the natives were barbaric savages after time they were able to work with them to achieve partnership. Their views on the region were that it was harsh and unwelcoming area in the beginning but once the natives showed them how to properly use the land it was a decent area. Their sense of providence was very strong as they thought that God had sent the natives to help them survive the harsh times.

6. Some features of Bradford’s narrative that might have changed had he written a personal account of his experiences are conversations he may have had and his interactions with the natives.

7. In my opinion, the treaty is not fair. It is very much in the Pilgrim’s favor rather than the Wampanoag.
